Wycombe Abbey School (Singapore) Marks Groundbreaking at Hougang Site
Singapore, 06 Jan 2026 — Following the Presidential Approval at the end of October 2025, Wycombe Abbey School (Singapore) marked another major milestone this morning with a groundbreaking ceremony at its future campus site in Hougang, officially commencing the development of its first school in Southeast Asia.
The ceremony was hosted by Dez Yuan, Vice President of BE Education and Director of the Wycombe Abbey International Advisory Board, and was attended by partners, stakeholders, and guests from the education and business communities.
Speeches were delivered by William Vanbergen, Founder and Chair of BE Education and Chair of the Wycombe Abbey International Advisory Board, and Mr. Goh Wee Ping, Chief Investment Officer of Wee Hur Holdings, the school’s local development partner. Both speakers highlighted the shared vision behind the project and the long-term value the school will bring to families and the wider community in Singapore.
Building on Wycombe Abbey’s nearly 130-year heritage in the UK, the Singapore campus will join a growing global network of Wycombe Abbey schools, including existing campuses in the UK, Hong Kong, Changzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing, and Cairo East, as well as upcoming schools in Bangkok (opening this year) and Incheon. Together, these schools form an interconnected international community, offering unparalleled opportunities for student, family, and staff exchanges, shared academic initiatives, and long-term global networks that extend well beyond graduation.
