Today, January 8, 2026, marks a momentous milestone for Wycombe Abbey International School Bangkok (WASBKK) as we are thrilled to share a transformative announcement: the appointment of Ms. Fiona Angel as our Founding Headteacher, effective immediately.

A new chapter begins for WASBKK, and we could not be more privileged to have Ms. Angel at its helm. Hailing from the United Kingdom, she is set to arrive in Bangkok on January 15, 2026, ready to steer our school toward becoming a beacon of educational excellence in Thailand and beyond.

Pioneer of a Century-Old Institution

Most recently, Ms. Angel made history at Dulwich College, London, where she served as Acting Master and spent 7 impactful years as Senior Deputy—breaking barriers as the first female deputy head in the school’s 400-year history.

During her tenure, she was the driving force behind whole-school strategy, culture, operations, safeguarding, and international expansion. Under her leadership, Dulwich College achieved its strongest academic outcomes to date and completed its most successful admissions cycle, a testament to her strategic acumen and ability to foster a culture of excellence.

Global Perspective Support Better Education

What sets Ms. Angel apart is her rare blend of visionary leadership and pragmatic action. Throughout her career, she has designed and embedded robust academic and pastoral frameworks, led successful organizational change, and forged strong international partnerships across Asia—including Bangkok—and the Middle East.

Her expertise also extends to overseeing quality assurance and inspection frameworks for multiple international schools, ensuring that educational standards remain consistently high and responsive to the needs of diverse student communities.
